The Mission of Children’s Medical Group is to:
- Provide quality, accessible primary health care services to all children in our community.
- Advocate for the well-being of all children.
- Educate children, families, health care professionals and our community regarding the health of children.
- Hold honesty and integrity as essential values as we strive to fulfill our Mission.
Making an appointment
Visits are by appointment only. Please try to schedule well-child visits and check-ups several weeks in advance.
Children who are ill are seen the same day. Please call early in the day so we can arrange to see your child.
Staff members are available to answer general questions throughout the day. Urgent phone calls are answered promptly by a physician.
After hours phone calls are handled by the physician on call. When calling an office after hours, you will be forwarded to our answering service. Please save your non-urgent calls for regular office hours.
For life-threatening or serious emergencies, call 911 or go directly to the nearest emergency room. We recommend the Emergency Department/Trauma Center at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, located at 9000 W. Wisconsin Ave., (414) 266-2626. For non-life threatening illnesses, call us before going to the emergency room, especially if your insurer or HMO requires pre-authorization.
Most children in need of hospitalization will be admitted to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Those with minor injuries or problems may be referred to Children’s Urgent Care or to local emergency rooms, when appropriate.
Children’s Medical Group physicians are on staff and available to see newborns at many area hospitals.
Educating new physicians is a vital part of quality health care for the future. We occasionally mentor students from the Medical College of Wisconsin and pediatric residents from Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in our office.
We enjoy the opportunity to share our knowledge with them.
You may have the opportunity to meet some of these physicians in training, but you always will see your physician and he or she will be available to answer all your questions.
Billing and Insurance
Children’s Medical Group works with many different insurers. In most cases, we can file your claim for you and you will be billed monthly for the balance not covered by your insurance.
With some companies, however, you will need to file the claim yourself. In these cases, we ask for payment at the time of service. For all insurers, all required co-payments are expected at the time of service.
Please feel free to ask our office personnel your insurance questions.
